Me too.

There's a bunch of 'Fortran' error codes.
<img src="http://members.shaw.ca/joevoxxer/DeathByClimatePrediction.jpg">

Here's my stats.
http://climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc/results.php?userid=1322

The early WU's failed because I unistalled boinc, to reinstalled Boinc 3.2
Then.. Seti started running on 4.05, so I upgraded again.
All of today's errors have been due to boinc bugs.

The useless advice I've seen on the help boards have been:
'remove the user logos from seti'
'remove the preinstalled stuff that HP installs' - sorry, I don't run HP.
'YOu're running win98? right' - sorry, I'm running XP SP2.

I think we need everyone with the Fortran error code to make one big thread, just like the Win98/boinc4.05 error thread over at the Seti forums.

i had this problem when I was still an alpha tester and experimented with trying to run both V4.02 and V3.20 from different program folders using DOZ. To clean up the mess I did a FULL uninstall of "all" components (folders and files), plus a complete regedit of the registry which did the trick. It therefore may be because of conflicting reg values and keys. I recommend that you first backup the registry before attempting to delete Boinc from the registry. It's worth a try.

In addition to Dogbytes suggestion it might be worth having a look at <a href="http://www.climateprediction.net/board/viewtopic.php?t=2296&amp;p=19923#19923">this post</a> from Carl in the phpBB forum.

If so could you please send it to me at

I don't would call it work!
I don't not why but the CPDN-client restarts itself sometimes (I don't know weahther this is normal ;-))I have saved this file! But I get the most errors if the client is in screensaver mode.

Maybe this has at all something to do with the instable BOINC 4.05 version
(Windows 2000, so no 98 bug)

I've got one computer having exactly the same errors this morning.

Tried restarting, reinstalling after a complete removal and registry clean-up and still the exact same errors.

Other 23 computers running as usual with no problems.

Hope someone can help resolve this.

Looks like there might be a work around for the problem :)

Thanks to <b>sjokela</b> for doing the investigative work and <b>UK_Nick</b> for providing a link to the file that fixes the problem.

And thank you Thyme Lawn for doing the legwork to spot a fix. Just tried it (slightly modified, had to copy/paste file contents) and it works.

Back in business for now.

The server was down for a while - I downloaded a model to 'Oony' since the CP-boinc server went back up and it runs okay without any modification. (Oony is one of the machines that had this FORTRAN error before.)

&gt;
&gt;
&gt;
CPU type Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 3.20GHz Pentium
Number of CPUs 2
Operating System Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition, Service Pack 2, (05.01.2600.00)
Memory 1023.4 MB
Cache 976.56 KB
Swap space 3428.8 MB
Total disk space 189.91 GB
Free Disk Space 176.81 GB
Measured floating point speed 1736 million ops/sec
Measured integer speed 2052.3 million ops/sec

I decided to upgrade from Client V4.02 directly to V4.06. One of my two work units passed into phase three with no troubles. However, when the second WU tried to transition to phase three, the entire computer froze up. I had "Help and Support" in Services disabled because of system tweaking that I had done, so their was no crash dump file available (since re-enabled). The only way to unlock my computer was to do a hard shutdown, all other attempts otherwise having failed. On restarting the computer and the client, the app restarted and the locked up WU went into phase three as it should have.

I have since re-installed V4.02 from disc and over wrote the V4.06 files. All appears to be working normally now. Since I'll be leaving town in a couple of days for about two weeks, I need my computers to be able to run by themselves unattended. Only cpdn was and has been attached to this host.

Has anyone any ideas or has anyone experienced the same problem? Since there was no crash .dmp file created, I'm flying in the dark here.

I'll let this little guy do the ranting for me. <img src="http://mysite.wanadoo-members.co.uk/thefinalfrontear/rant.gif?">

After exiting BOINC and starting it again later, I got the following error message:

<img src="http://www.finla.com/privat/error38.gif">

BOINC said the model mentioned above was still running, but progress was reset to 0.00%, a strange value for "To Completion" was shown, and the CPU time didn't increase anymore. (The second model I'm running on the same computer was not affected and worked fine.)

After a while I opened the work unit directory in order to see whether I could rename yabsd.out and change the name back again, because I wanted to know if the file was in use and stuck somehow. Renaming it was possible, and after it had its old name again, I saw that now my computer went on processing the work unit, and everything seems to be okay again.

Can anybody tell me if that what I did will lead to inherited errors?

Hi Basti, this namelist error is fixed, if you "Reset" project to get a new workunit it should run OK now.
