Having installed from climateprediction.net directly (and now running as part of sulphur_cycle 4.22)is there any benefit in and possibility of being converted to the BBC version?

You can run the BBC version as well by attaching with your current BOINC install. The URL is http://bbc.cpdn.org it works fine with a 5.x.x client.

The same models will make it over here once the initial problems there are fixed. I personally detached there once it was released to the public.

Just the opposite - you\'ll lose your sulphur model.
The BBC BOINC is a special version created for their project. Stick with the one from this site.
If you want to participate in their project as well, just attach to their site.

Keep in mind that you may end up with the prefs set on their site. Some of them seem to hardcoded. Two that have been noticed so far are:
only 1 processor allowed, (won\'t affect you}
leave apps in memory: has been set to No.

This site will have a TCM before long, \'as soon as the dust settles\'.

At the BBC site, after having attached with regular BOINC, I was able to change both the processors allowed to 2, and the leave apps in memory to Yes.

It seems that I was misinformed elsewhere.
Sorry about that.
