I think the Y-axis figures are being scaled and then rounded, which is why there are gaps. Ideally they should have been displayed to one decimal place.

Something like this, where the figures are increasing evenly, but the rounding makes it look uneven:

22.8 -> 23
21.7 -> 22
20.6 -> 21
19.5 -> 20
18.4 -> 18
17.3 -> 17
16.2 -> 16
15.1 -> 15
14.0 -> 14
12.9 -> 13

At the next update I will have completed over 100 \"HadSM3 Complete (45-year) Runs\".

That\'s a lot of years to be crunching in 2 years, 9.5+ months.

Well done :-)

Thank you!

All this with out doing the \"recommended\" backups, and only fubar\'ing a couple models myself, there were others fubar\'d by CPDN itself (the time they sent out bad code), etc.

On WinXP and Vista machines, without doing the slow shutdown, etc.

I\'ve been lucky so far. I keep good clean running machines.

Looks like I nearly missed this by a day, but I finally crossed the 1 million cobblestone mark for CPDN. :) Of course, that\'s hundreds of runs and lots of \'boo-boos\' thrown in, but I think I have over 50 complete between slab and coupled.

Second Mike\'s remark and, a very nice contribution to the project.

I guess I will call this a milestone. I have retired a few older computers, by placing them in needed homes with school aged children. Alas, another machine (my 4th) is being retired from crunching and going to a home with 3 children who need it badly. The current computer they have is a old P2-300Mhz. I am giving them my P4 2.8Ghz. They really need it for school and stuff. Mom is divorce, and disabled. She has had 3 back surgeries and 1 neck surgery. Kids do a lot for mom, but they can not afford much.

The other 3 machines one went to a family with 4 children, 2 of school age, one starting next year one just a little tyke. Dad has had a rough time of things, but is a hard worker. He has a steady job and insurance and keeps the family fed and stuff, but no extra $ for fluff. He got my P4 1.5G Xeon Workstation. Really works well for them. The P4 1.8G went to a single dad with a school aged boy. Mom passed on, and dad has it rough with taking care of this little guy. He\'s a handful and has a hard time cause he needs a real flexible job. So he has been through a few. The last of the 3 was an older P4, somewhere around 1.4G and I donated that to a family through a school. All I know is it was two grade school kids and they were also on rough times, as one had to go through cancer care. The kid was still surviving and nearly complete with treatment when I donated it. They were about 90% sure the cleared this child of the disease. I have not heard anything since.

I hope to replace it sometime after tax season with a Core2Duo or Quad (depending on the prices and what I get back).

Anyone else donate their boxes to needy families and then upgrade because of it? Let\'s hear your stories.

That certainly is an important milestone for those families. Youngsters are at a disadvantage nowadays if they haven\'t got access to a computer at home. In the UK and I expect in the USA, access at school is more or less standard but it\'s not enough for homework, special presentations, research on the internet and so on. The parents in those families will also benefit.

You are right - milestones is about more than numbers of credits.

Here\'s something of a milestone for team Scotland - as can be seen from IanM\'s model stats, team members have now completed more than 600 climate models of various kinds, including CPDN, SAP and BBC!
