I am using boinc 5.2.10 win xp, plenty of processing power, and having no problem with seti, einstein, rosetta or predictor. I have allocated equal time to all. Each day and several times per day I have tried updating and have been sent downloads. The last message said I had may daily quota. So no sign of any results and no rotating orb. can you help please?

Your computer is crashing every model as soon as it starts.
Unfortunately, there is also a bug somewhere in BOINC which, when the upload of the crashed files is attempted, gives a 161 error, which overwrites the error causing the crash.
Have a look in the std.... text files in the BOINC folder, and see if there are any messages which mention the crash, especially the error code.

Otherwise it could be any of a lot of things.

There is lots of info in the BOINC Wiki <a href=\"http://boinc-doc.net/boinc-wiki/index.php?title=Main_Page\"> here,</a> but you need a clue as to what to look for.

I can\'t find any reference to an error code. Just that I have not allocated enough disk space. I think I have now but still it will not function. Should I delete all downloaded potential work? If so do I remove directories or the whole of cpnd and start again?

There are some error codes are on the page for each failed model, which are accessed off your Account page, but I was hoping for more info about the failures.
You got another data set on the 19th, which crashed after .11 cpu seconds.
You can delete the failed models if you wish.
Have a look at BOINC\\climateprediction.net, and delete all the folders for models with names mentioned in your Account page / results. There are currently 14.
BOINC space is allocated in the general preferences page of your Account page.

BUT! This will not get your computer to process models correctly. That is a different matter. Which is why I suggested the reading.

Basically: DON\'T overclock, check for overheating of the cpu, (Is the heatsink dust free?, are the ribbon cables tied back so as not to obstruct air flow?), is the power supply a reasonable size or just barely adequate?

I upgraded to the latest version of Boinc, suspended all other crunchees, and watched on task manager as the sulphur module was started to be worked on. So far so good. If I am right then it\'s not the microclimate in my home computer that\'s been the problem but boinc software. Many thanks for your suggestions. I hope I am right because I would not know where to start to check out heatsink.

If it is BOINC, they\'ll work it out. But it\'s most likely your computer, as you can run the other BOINC projects.
cpdn, on the other hand, has been ported from a 64bit Fortran program running on The Met\'s supercomputers, and needs a VERY stable computer on which to work.
