when I start the boinc manager I get this error, yesterday it was ok, but after I changed my preferences to work as screensaver only, it doesnt work.

My advice on this one would be:

1. If you are not using 5.2.13 of BOINC try an upgrade to that.

2. Don\'t use the BOINC screensaver. That is general advice for anyone running climateprediction in any case as it tends to use a lot of processing power. The graphics can be viewed from the work tab of BOINC Manager whenever you want them.

3. When this happens, closing (with File/Exit) and restarting BOINC often fixes it, at least until next time.

There are problems with the latest version of BOINC which can give this error. If you are interested try looking at the BOINC message boards.

Although it is generally best to use the project boards for queries, especially if you are new, the BOINC boards offer the collective experience of people who have all met similar problems.
