I am having some problems getting started with climateprediction.net. I can attach to the project and get a work unit okay, but this is what happens next:

4.12.2005 5:33:29|climateprediction.net|Starting result sulphur_e7rz_000663263_0 using sulphur_cycle version 422
4.12.2005 5:33:37||request_reschedule_cpus: process exited
4.12.2005 5:34:02|climateprediction.net|Unrecoverable error for result sulphur_e7rz_000663263_0 ( - exit code -1073741819 (0xc0000005))

After that, the client attempts to get another work unit and the exact same thing happens. After 2 units fail, I start getting the following error:

4.12.2005 5:35:04|climateprediction.net|Sending scheduler request to http://climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc_cgi/cgi
4.12.2005 5:35:04|climateprediction.net|Reason: To fetch work
4.12.2005 5:35:04|climateprediction.net|Requesting 8640 seconds of new work, and reporting 1 results
4.12.2005 5:35:09|climateprediction.net|Scheduler request to http://climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc_cgi/cgi succeeded
4.12.2005 5:35:09|climateprediction.net|Message from server: No work sent
4.12.2005 5:35:09|climateprediction.net|Message from server: (reached daily quota of 1 results)
4.12.2005 5:35:09|climateprediction.net|No work from project
4.12.2005 6:10:13||request_reschedule_cpus: process exited

What do I do? This very same machine is running SETI without any issues and a hardware problem is ruled out.

What version of BOINC are you running? If it\'s an older version, you might want to try 5.2.13 to see if that helps.

I\'m having identical problems since updating the client to the 5.2.12 version of BOINC - further update to the 5.2.13 verson does not help.

I\'m running SETI and PREDICTOR with no problems.

I\'m having identical problems

Your model is shown as having failed with error code 1. There is some information about it in this page of the BOINC-Wiki. It is suggested that it might be a graphics problem. Are you using the BOINC screensaver? The advice is not to; even though it is the default it is not a good use of processing power and can cause problems on some machines.

Otherwise, when does it happen? Is there anything else happening at the same time (eg anti-virus scan etc)?

I was running in \"Server\" mode, so I don\'t get any graphics, but I\'ve checked (using Windows Update) and I appear to have all drivers etc. up to date.

The problem happens within seconds of a new work unit task starting - I get a Windows exception and the sulphur app closes, abortin the WU.
I\'ve had this problem for several days now, and left the CPDN project suspended until I had a chance to look for anyone with similar problems.

I appear to have solved my problem by uninstalling BOINC and re-installing the latest client in \"Single User\" mode, then detaching from the CPDN project, clearing out all the CPDN folders, then re-attaching to the project.
I tried everything at once, so I\'m not sure if any single change would have made the difference.
