Is it at work, where something goes on after hours? Cleaners perhaps; air conditioning turned off.
Any programs run at night, but not during the day? (Backups, etc.)
What is the message(s) in stdoutdae? (Plus some lines either side.)

Does antivirus do a scan at night?

It seems to be telling me I'm out of memory but why?

Well, hard to tell. What version are you running? What OS?

Did you try a reboot?

Did you send your logs (a zip file of the TXT and OLD files in the BOINC directory) to Paul? (p.d.buck@comcast.net)? :)

seriously. this is an interesting message and I do not think I have it.

Ok, we have exceeded my level of incompetence ... Not sure what I can do to help. I will look at the logs when I get them.

Something is using up a lot of memory.
Is 'available mem' with or without BOINC running?
Have you run Memtest86? (Some notes <a href="http://www.climateprediction.net/board/viewtopic.php?t=2126"> here)</a>
Have you checked for malware, such as ads, spy, virus, trojans, (e.g. with HiJackthis)

Les
Available mem is with boinc running
If I compare it with my home system (see below ) it seems reasonable

Total Physical Memory 1,024.00 MB
Available Physical Memory 660.36 MB

Both systems using about 365MB

Both systems run avg antivirus/spywareblaster and spybot.
Both systems report as clean.

I have no problem with my home computer
