It's difficult to say what actually went wrong, but you might like to look at <a href="http://climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc/forum_thread.php?id=2880">this thread</a>.

If you cannot find anything wrong with your machine it would be worth trying again if it is the first time it has happened.

Had a look at the thread, it only confirms that I'm not the only one having this problem.

"18/07/2005 00:13:27|climateprediction.net|Result 0ita_100044652_1 exited with zero status but no 'finished' file
18/07/2005 00:13:27|climateprediction.net|If this happens repeatedly you may need to reset the project."

I had to abort one WU, and this is a new one that keeps resetting itself. The only thing that's been added to my system recently is the latest batch of security updates for W2K.

sQuonk - Although the message you quote could indicate file handling problems, some people get it regularly and suffer no ill effects. There is no need to reset the project in response so long as it continues crunching.

You might need to do some file housekeeping, or consider whether there might have been something else that affected disk activity at the time you got the messages, but otherwise I would be inclined to ignore the problem. You should be able to tell if the WU is getting along alright from looking at the graphics.
