Hi there,
I installed BOINC yesterday, but it hasn't done anything since...
I signed up at ClimatePrediction, and entered the site url and id. that seemed to work fine.
But under messages I keep getting the same messages all the time:

climateprediction.net - 2005-05-10 16:59:12 - Requesting 3397 seconds of work
climateprediction.net - 2005-05-10 16:59:12 - Sending request to scheduler: http://climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc_cgi/cgi
climateprediction.net - 2005-05-10 16:59:14 - Scheduler RPC to http://climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc_cgi/cgi failed
climateprediction.net - 2005-05-10 16:59:14 - No schedulers responded
climateprediction.net - 2005-05-10 16:59:14 - Deferring communication with project for 1 hours, 20 minutes, and 17 seconds

is something wrong with the site? or is something wrong with my installation?

thanks,
John

The server has disk space related problems which the project team are trying to sort out. It looks like the scheduler is currently offline (as it has been a few times today), hopefully to let them fix the problem.

Is there a page on climateprediction.net, which keeps users updated when the system is down? wouldn't it be a good idea to have such a page somewhere where it could be found easily?

No, but you have a little program that can give the general status of boinc projects: click
