How do I get BIONIC to stop using 100% of my CPU, its causing my computer to overheat and to run insanely slowly.

Threadmaster is a program that should let you do that.

If you've got a laptop you may want to lift it up off the surface it is resting on particularly at the back.

Does this program work OK w/XP? I see it was designed for Windows 2000 only.

Most folks participating in CPDN do so with WinXP. (Or do you mean threadmaster?) Perhaps your machine is due a cleaning or some stability tests?

Where do you find threadmaster ?

OK After implementing the threadmaster, my system seems to bit-slice other applications, ie. stops and starts them, and also slow to start applications up. An example is when playing a DVD the picture stops and starts, even though the process shows 10 utilisation under Task Manager. Stop Bonic app. and all rus OK again.

any solution

I don\'t have a answer to this as I run flat out 24/7.
But you could try changing the settings in your General preferences:

Do work while computer is in use? .... NO
and/or
Do work only between the hours of .... insert-times-to-suit
