I'm currently running v.4.13 . I've downloaded the 4.19 exec file, but haven't installed it yet.

When I run this, am I going to lose all the data that my machine has crunched, or will it start where it left off?

Exit BOINC. It may be wise to copy the boinc folder just in case. Install over current directory (no uninstall is recommended). This procedure should allow you continue with existing WUs.

I have downloaded and installed v4.19 while running, and noted that the program identified the update immediately, reran the benchmarks and just kept on trucking. I believe that the item of interest here is the BOINC program, while the computing is done by a subroutine hadsm3 v4.04 and that hasn't changed.
