OS: FreeBSD 5.2.1-p2 & linux-base-8 emulation
CPU: AMD Athlon(tm) XP 2000+ (1668.71-MHz 686-class CPU)
real memory = 536870912 (512 MB)
avail memory = 516014080 (492 MB)

If I install and run the model, I get the following:

(extracts archive)

Waiting for model startup, this may take a minute...
Stack size=64.00 MB
ELF binary type \"0\" not known.
execle(../hadsm3um_4.02_i686-pc-linux-gnu) failed!
0231_000027686 - PH 1 TS 000001 - 00/00/0000 00:00 - H:M:S=0000:00:00 AVG= 0.00

It hangs there for a while, then I get the \"model crashed\" error. In \'top\' I see boinc and the hadsm3_4.02_blah but load averages remain at 0.00 so it\'s not computing.

I saw a similar error to this in folding@home and I had to brandelf -t Linux the file that was downloaded and unzipped, or the model wouldn\'t run.

If I do this:

cd ~/myclimatedir/projects/climateprediction.net

(basically brandelf to linux the unzipped files)

cd ../..

brandelf -t Linux boinc_4.02_i686-pc-linux-gnu

then run it, it works, but it seems to crash after 7 or 8 units. It then restarts and downloads some more. If just the unzipped files are done, it downloads and downloads but never computes anything. Hope this is of use to anyone out there using freebsd.
