Hello,

I seem to be unable to activate my newly created account. I received the account id and pasted it into the form, but only get the form back.

I am using Firebird 1.0, but it did not work with IE5.5 either. Please help. My e-mail address is: gunnar.doerr@web.de

Thanks

Gunnar.

Hi Gunnar,

Check that you're not getting leading or trailing white space when you paste the account id.

I have the same problem. I checked, and I'm not copying white spaces with the account ID. My email is crisgonzalez@ya.com

Welcome to the project, Arquitecto.

There has been a server problem for several days, which has just been fixed.
Perhaps restarting the server has upset something, so you could just try again.

But it SHOULD be straight forward. When people have had this problem before, the previous 'cure' has worked.

Is the server working ok? Because I can't even log in by clicking on the link that was sent to my email. I understand that I need to log in to be able to run the program and send you the information, right?

Arquitecto

The info in the email is NOT a link, just a character string.

The url is the characters between, but not including, []

The following also works:

You don't login to the site to run or to upload. Just login to the internet, and BOINC does the rest.

Do you have a BOINC folder? Possibly under Program Files, or some such.
Do you have a dark blue disk with a large B in it, in the system tray?
If so, click on it and you will get a window, which is the BOINC gui.

Part 2 of the tutorial when I hear if you have gotten this far.

Thanks.
Well, i think i'll need part 2 of the tutorial, 'cos all the messages i'm getting are of the type:
"Message from server: No work available (there was work but you don't have enough disk space allocated"
i've tried logging in to my account to change the preferences, but, again, it won't let me log in (which is very strange because it accepted the password to attach to the project, and to answer to this thread). So i get the impression i'm not getting much done.
Thanks agin, Les.

I was going to continue with some info about files on your computer once I knew whether or not they were there.

However, if your problem is accessing your account, then I don't know what to suggest.
When I started, it all worked without any problems, so I don't have personal experience with what can go wrong.
If you can reach the message boards, what message do you get when your click on
'Your account'?

I get the "please log in" page, and when i write my password, it just goes back to the same one. i can't access my account. i've tried everything, from typing the password over instead of copying and pasting, to clicking on the link i got in my email (it is a link, but it just takes me to the please log in page). i'm starting to think i should just start all over again, maybe it would be easier.

> I get the "please log in" page.

I don't think I've seen that, or else I've forgotten.
You SHOULD get your account page, so you may have missed a step.

**************

OK. One last try, and then I'm out of ideas.

Click on 'Model download' (left hand blue menu)
Near the top, click on 'Create an account first'

Find this:
If you already received an account ID, do not submit this form. Activate your account instead.
Click on Activate.
