The members of the US Navy Team\'s forum have voted to select the project \"Climate prediction\" as the POTM (Project of the Month) for the month for March, April and May This will run for three (3) months due to some large work units. If you desire not to work this project the US Navy teams need some help in the following projects: (1) uFluid, (2) QMC, (3) World Community Grid. Any help given in these projects will help us greatly in surpassing the U.S.Air Force team in both the RAC and total cobblestones. To-date every POTM selected has resulted in the US Navy team leading the Air Force by a great amount.

[b]Due to a power outage the Navy Team\'s Forum will be out of commission until this weekend 4/11/09.

I am trying to understand what you are saying but still don\'t understand why all the credit earned with a team can not stay with the team it was earned for. If a work unit model was not finished the future earning of that model should go to the members new team.

Years go with the Classic SETI project one big problem for a number of teams who had good completion going on between them was the ability to go out side the team and bring in friends from other project to help them out as they has a great RAC and credit and use it for their freinds team unitl they caught up again with the other team. Then the nemmber would just sign-out taking his credit\'s and go back to his original team until needed again. So in a few days time a team leadership in Government Agencies listing of teams could change just by new recruited temporary members just so a team can be listed as being #1.

In our case the US Navy vs the U.S.Air force team. The months of March and April were selected by the US Navy as the POTM (Project of the Month) for the CPDN project. It took us 23 days of extra crunching to finally overcome about 1.1 million cobblestones. We were leading over 50,000 cobblestone when a new member joined the air Force team carrying about 1.5 million cobblestones which passed on to the Air Force teams credit. That is not fair competition allowing new members to a team to bring earned credits on one team and bringing them to there new team.

Should be that all projects in the BOINC projects have the same rules for active members changing teams.

If you are only want to run this project for a month or two be careful what you download. The Hadsm3 and Hadsm3mh work units can be finished in 1 or 2 months (depending on the speed or your processor and how much it is turned on), but, the Hadcm3 160 year model will take 4 to 6 month to as much as a year to complete.

Thanks Jim for that information. Forgot to put that in my notice to the members.

The US Navy team has a \'Project of the Month\". We ask all members of any Navy team in the BOINC system to crunch work units for the selected project. The project selected for December is Cosmology at home.

If you can spare some of your computer power for the Cosmology at home please sign up with the Cosmology project and then sign on to the US Navy Cosmology team. Every little bit can help us keep ahead of the U.S.Air Force team.

The Navy Team\'s Forum is at:Navy Team\'s Forum. How about joining the Navy Team\'s Forum and \'Vote for the next Project of the Month\'.

Running Windows XP at home,2.4 cpu,256 memory. I was running Boinc on this computer for some time with other programs such as seti, clim. prediction, esintein and now LHC. After a slight mishap, deleting my Boinc program, I am unable to download it again. Have tried four times, two different versions of Boinc, and I am informed that I still have a version of Boinc installed and will not be able to complete the download. I have tried everything I know, add/remove program, deleted all files and folders with the name of boinc in it, deleted all protected files and folders with the name Boinc in it etc. WHAT is the next step I can try.

Windows XP

Computer running slow and I exit CP program. My Windows Task Manager still showed CP running and using from 2 to 20% of computer power and at the same time no work was being shown as being performed by CP. Rebooted and that took care of the problem.

However, as soon as the computer rebooted the CP program attempted to dial out even thought I set it up to only dial out every 10 days. That setting hasn\'t taken even though I set it up about 5 days ago.

Soon I know I will have all the problems taken care of with all your expert advice.

Thanks
